Inverie Revisited
The St Olaf Possee revisited Knoydart during the early summer of 2005. The group was blessed with fantastic weather and an almost midge free time which was as pleasurable an experience as it was an unusual occurrence at this time of year.
The walk to Inverie was completed over the weekend of 10th June. A group of 13 participated in the event with a strong team of walkers completing the 17 miles from Kinloch Hourn to the Old Forge Pub in Inverie in a spectacular time, almost two hours quicker than last year. It has to be said we were blessed with exceptionally good weather this year which made the walk all the more enjoyable. The walkers were also supported by a vital backup team who saw to it that all kit and supplies were transported from Cruden Bay to Inverie via a ferry trip from Mallaig.
The walk wasn’t entirely based around social banter, there was also a fundraising aspect which was importantly geared toward fundraising for the planned renovation of our lodge buildings. We are delighted to report that sponsorship for the walk raised well over £1200.00
