Kenny Davidson was arguably the most essential link connecting the generations of Lodge St. Olaf, bridging those who came before the 1980s with the generations that followed. At the time of his installation as Master, Kenny was 51 years old, a figure of respect and admiration among the “older school” members who had been long established in the Lodge. At the same time, he was an approachable and inspirational leader for the younger men who joined Lodge St. Olaf in significant numbers throughout the 1980s. His ability to unite and inspire members of all ages cemented his role as a pivotal figure in the Lodge’s history.

Kenny passed to the Grand Lodge above at the age of 76, having remained an active and cherished member of Lodge St. Olaf for 25 years following his time in the chair. In those years, he continued to be a guiding force and an enthusiastic participant in Lodge life. Kenny was a staunch supporter of the ventures and initiatives devised by the younger members he had mentored. Whether through his wisdom, encouragement, or his active involvement, he consistently demonstrated his unwavering commitment to the Lodge and its members.

Since his passing, Kenny’s legacy has been celebrated and preserved through heartfelt tributes and social gatherings in his name. One notable event, “An Evening Without Kenny Davidson,” was held to honor his life, showcasing his humorous poetry and entertaining stories, which had become a cherished hallmark of his personality. His work and spirit continue to inspire, as selections of his poetry are now included in the compulsory toasts during Lodge Burns Suppers. These are recited alongside the works of Scotland’s national bard, Robert Burns, further cementing Kenny’s place in the cultural and fraternal fabric of the Lodge.

Through his leadership, humor, and dedication, Kenny Davidson left an indelible mark on Lodge St. Olaf, ensuring that his influence would endure across generations.
