The decade following the founding of Lodge St Olaf No. 1188 saw a remarkable period of growth and enthusiasm within the lodge. Between 1920 and 1929, a total of 103 new brethren joined its ranks, reflecting the strong appeal and steady development of Freemasonry within the local community.
During these ten years, ninety-six men were initiated into the lodge, each beginning their Masonic journey within Lodge St Olaf. In addition to these initiates, seven brethren affiliated with the lodge, bringing with them their previous Masonic experience and strengthening the fellowship of the brethren already meeting in Port Erroll.
This steady increase in membership during the 1920s demonstrated the important role the lodge was beginning to play in village life. For many local men, Lodge St Olaf offered friendship, support, and a shared set of values at a time when communities were continuing to rebuild and move forward after the difficulties of the First World War.
The following pages record the names of these 103 brethren who joined Lodge St Olaf during its first full decade of existence. Each name represents an individual story and a contribution to the growth and character of the lodge, helping to establish the strong foundations upon which it continues to stand today.
